CeCe Winans + Roman Collins Sing ‘Goodness of God’

Gospel Singer Winans and Roman Collin’s sang their version of the Bethel ballad, the “Goodness of God,” in the American Idol finale May 19, 2024 leaving pop singer and Idol judge Katy Perry in tears. This is Perry’s last “…appearance on the show as a judge on the show after seven years.” The Gospel duet even had former Idol winner Fantastia, (who was present for the season 22 finale) standing, singing along, and in a worshipful spirit.

According to DEADLINE, “Fantasia Barrino returned to the American Idol stage and delivered powerful and inspiring words to the Season 22 finalists on the 20th anniversary of her win.” Fantasia gave credit to God when reflecting on her journey to the singing competition and even the last two decades of her successful career.
